Hi fellow hounds. I have one night in Taipei free where I can schedule a dinner and am looking for recommendations from this knowledgeable crowd who have served me well on some of my other Eastern voyages. I will be a solo diner. I don't want Japanese as I already have a booking in Hong Kong at Sushi Shikon. My limited understanding has it that Taiwan's native cuisine comes from all over China, so I can probably get anything, but I am hoping to get recommendations for something that would be memorable and different to what I might find in Hong Kong and Beijing. Cost isn't really an issue, but after visiting Singapore I know that some of the best eats are found at cheaper joints. Since I don't need the ambience (it's all about the food) please feel free to recommend whatever you think would be a great food memory to take from Taiwan. (I have already have eaten beef noodles).
