Having sworn off this place a few years ago, a friend offered to treat me to dinner last there last night and so off we went. I have to say I had a very nice time! We had some wine by the glass, my friend had the "Barbera" red which she liked and I had a very smooth "Sauvingon Blanc". We loved the bread basket, a big improvement over their old cotton-wool bread. I could live on the little rolls! I had their grilled shrimp as my appetizer and they were delicious (only 3 however), nicely charred and spicy. Followed that with their "Rigatoni Foccacia", a pasta made with italian bacon, sage, garlic, white wine etc., and it was the way I remembered it 20 years ago. Again the portion wasn't that big but it hit the spot. My friend had the fried calamari and a roast pork special, both of which she loved. We both had the "creme caramel" for dessert, again a big improvement, light as a feather with a slight citrus touch. Coffee was ok but they serve it in these tiny, tulip shaped cups that are adorable but please give me a regular sized cup. I didn't see the check so i can't comment on that, i would say the place has improved and if you're flush and don't mind a little noise you could have a fun time there again.
