We had a nice leisurely pre-theater brunch at Marseille yesterday. The incoming blizzard didn't seem to deter anyone as the place filled up quickly by 1 p.m.
This was our first visit and our group of five enjoyed a variety of foods from a flaky warm croissant to a hummus plate and a basil-flecked soupe au pistou.
The gals said a frittata and Lorraine-style omelet were very good as was the salmon. Sides of lamb sausage and bacon were cooked properly and enjoyed.
We had time to kill before our show and appreciated that the waitstaff didn't hurry us out to fend for ourselves in the frigid storm.
Now I know why Marseille is a Chowhound favorite. The food is good, the service is friendly, and the ambiance is comfortable.
