Thanks to New Hampshire Magazine I discovered that my favorite sandwich, banh mi, is now available even closer in downtown Tilton. I stopped for the first time yesterday. V's Sandwich Shop serves several types of banh mi, two types of hot soup, and several kinds of bubble tea. I chose chicken pho to eat there. There are only two tiny tables but it was around 1pm and both were empty. When I didn't start trying the sauce in the small container, the friendly lady counter person came over to explain I could either dip chicken pieces into the sauce or pour the container into the soup and mix it in. I asked about the dark sauce which she said they made there from soy and other things. It was a sweet soy flavor. Into this they squirt some Siracha so it was fun and tasty to dip chicken into the container but then I also enjoyed mixing it into the soup. I got a B1 banh mi to bring home which I have yet to try. A new Mexican restaurant Casamios is across the street. A friend had just told me that it is very very good.

Heading north on I93 (to the lakes region and skiing) it's probably best to take exit 20 and turn right to go into the downtown area. This is the same exit for the Tanger Outlet Mall. V's also serves a Vietnamese salad.
