I forget the name of this place (Agnandi or something) but it is on the corner of 19th and Ditmars. The food was outstanding and there is lovely outdoor seating. The menu does not have many of the greek mainstays like moussaka (I took this as a good sign)and has some turkish specialties. We decided to share 4 appetizer type dishes. First was Ntakos which is like a greek panzanelle: rustic whole wheat bread, feta, tomatoes, olives, capers, greens and olive oil. Then some saganaki , a delicious baked salty cheese. Next were some meat bureks. Delicious filling, flaky crust. And finally, mussels in white wine, tomatoes and feta. A clear winner and some of he best mussles I have had in NYC. The one thing I wished I ordered was the grilled octopus which looked amazing and almost every table ordered. The one odd thing was that the place was almost empty at 9:30 and then packed by 11. If I still lived in NYC, I would definitely go back. Oh, and they gave us free desert, incl delicious greek yogurt with some fruit in syrup.
