The 'New' Jerusalem Restaurant in Bailey's Crossroads

Steve | May 8, 202102:03 PM     1

my first visit to Jerusalem Restaurant since they moved across Leesburg Pike into new digs. It is now a spiffy place, beautifully and evocatively decorated. Still doing takeout, but the chicken makhusan and the lamb makluba are as good as ever. The chicken is served over pita, and the bread sops up the drippings form the chicken and spices and becomes wonderful. Lamb is fragrant and tender. A trio of dips helps it all go down smoothly. One of my most successful takeout meals.

If you go, check out their om ali, one of my favorite reliable desserts around, like a Palestinian bread pudding.

Maybe dine-in will be in the cards for me soon!
