Nero - disappointing

Had dinner w/ a friend at Nero last night. I had read some pretty decent reviews of it and I've gotta say I was pretty disappointed in it. The restaurant itself is reasonably cool, its a fairly dark kind rustic room, the service was pretty decent. The problem was the food as I thought everything was fairly bland. We got the following:
- beef carpaccio - this was okay, it was basically regular beef carpaccio with grated parmesan, olive oil, some mustard and some greens. it tasted a little too oily and the meat wasnt as tender as i like
- tuna on risotto - i had a grilled tuna, which i thought was slightly overcooked and extremely bland, the same goes for the risotto, it literally had no flavor
- scallops on a bed of polenta - this was better than my dish although i thought i was just okay, the polenta was tasty and the scallops were generally decent tasting
- chocolate souffle - not good, it was very thick and liquidy and generally just tasted like a liquidy pudding

all in, i wasn't impressed and id go to macelleria next door any day over Nero
