We had dinner at the Neptune Room last night. We've been several times, and I think I enjoyed the food more last night than ever before. The raw salmon and tuna with citrus baits were fresh and tasty, along with a glass of their unusual cava rose, practically a meal in itself. The spicy tuna tartare was also excellent. The special whole fish was a dorade. Again fresh and expertly prepared, and a steal at $19. The main course from the menu that I had was the flounder with caramelized cauliflower. Savory balanced by the superb fish. The sommeliere suggested a light red, and she was right on the money.
We shared the almond bundt cake and the panna cotta, both of which were terrific. I could have done without one or the other, but not regretting a Wednesday night splurge.
