I have a large wooden salad bowl that was originally unfinished raw wood. Over the years it has accumulated a tacky oil finish - inside and out. I've cleaned it with salt and vinegar inside and out and rinsed the outside with clorox as well, but it remains tacky. It's still usable, but disagreeable to handle.
Any suggestions for removing it? I could clean the outside at least with mineral spirits, but am reluctant to use anything like that on a salad bowl.
