Help needed with rice krispies cheese biscuits, and a rant

I have never even seen these, much less tasted them, but have been intrigued with the idea since Julie Powell mentioned them in the Julie/Julia Project. They are absent from Kraft Foods' online recipe listing. I have read through over a dozen recipes (mostly on Cooks.com, a site in dire need of editing), ALL of which are carelessly and incompletely written. All have the same basic ingredient proportions. The worst ones don't have any instructions at all, and one calls for a "stick of Fleischman's mayonnaise"...took me a second to realize that should have been margarine.

The recipes call them "straws", although almost all of them call for shaping them into small, flattened balls. Oven temp, when given, is either 325 or 350. When a baking time is given, it is from 10-20 min. NONE say what size the balls should be, nor how many the recipe yields. One calls for rolling the mixture, then cutting into 2-1/2" straws, but the thickness of the rolled mixture is not mentioned, nor the width of the straws.

Can anyone who has made these fill in the blanks? I'd like to give these a try. And I'd like to administer a dope-slap to people who post incomplete recipes! TIA
