Help needed in finding a place for a birthday dinner

Josh | Apr 13, 200511:28 AM

As per my description, I am in charge of finding a suitable place for dinner for my Aunt and mother. That is the easy part. Now comes the hard part.

I am looking for a place that has a private room or just a section of a restaurant that will fit 10-12 people including children ranging in age from 5 months to 8. The reason is so that we do not intrude on other people's dinners as much as possible.

Food wise, we are looking for something really good in the non-Asian realm of chow. (Since we are Chinese we get enough Chinese, Japanese, and Korean food when we go out). Therefore I guess French, Italian, and fusion come to mind. Plus unfortunately no matter how much we would like to go to Spagos and have a 3 hour dinner that just is not possible with all the children restrictions. Just as a point of reference we have gone to AOC (good), Jiraffe (better), Water Grill (very good), Shiro (alright), and Cafe Hiro (sucked) as a group before.

As to location, we can drive so location is not really an issue. Price wise is also not an issue.

So to sum it up I need a place with great food for both adults and kids, a private area for the party, and something Non-Asian. I know the Chowhounds out there can help me out so PLEASE HELP!
