Went to Nectar on Fri night and it was overall very good. The atmosphere/decor was really nice. However, it was SO packed (good for them) that it felt a bit cramped even though there is more than ample space between tables. And it was a bit on the loud side and we even had a table (for 5) tucked in the back corner. We started with the calamari which was really good. and a sampler that had small bites that were hard (nearly impossible) to share between 5 (the waiter had warned us) and on that plate, the tuna carpaccio with jalapeno was excellent. as was the mushroom spring roll. crab cake was mediocre. and the pork pot stickers were really good.
Entrees delighted - my friends' filet was great, another beef and shrimp dish ws great, a sushi entree sampler looked so very fresh, and the shrimp pad thai i think was excellent. Only thing that missed the mark was my dish - a scallop dish with tumeric sauce. the sauce was not so great, read bland. we also tasted the lo mein with wild boar and chinese sausage and so with the exception of there being hardly noticeable boar, the lo mein had excellent flavor. a wok veggie dish was excellent - baby bok choy and shittake mushrooms. spicy tuna roll was fantastic- i would look forward to going back for their sushi. oh - also had a jump lump crab california roll which at $9 was excellent !!!!!!!1
Mini donuts for dessert were wonderful - and shareable. the peach pie was not extraodinary.
The Blood orange maritini i started with was excellent too (and I didn't share it).
Overall, I'd say a great addition to the main line and will continue to be packed (make reservations!!!!!!!) until the next new venture comes along (i read in table talk that susanno foo and capital grill were eyeing locales on route 30.....)
