Visited Nan Zhou Hand-Drawn Noodle House (927 Race St.) last night for dinner. (We were inspired by the recent article in the Inquirer.)
Yum-my. Cheap, too. The noodles really are fabulous, and it's neat to see & hear the owner making them in the back of the store. I particularly loved the soups -- I had the roast duck (big chunks of roast duck, bones and all), my friend had the meatball. Broth was flavorful, light, with noodles (obviously), some greens, a little bit of cilantro. A good pho alternative, if you're in the mood for a big steaming bowl but want some variety. Comparable size portion & price ($4-5) to pho, also. I see a lot of soup in my future.
