Nagoya - hitsumabushi

jkaww | Feb 5, 201608:11 AM     1

I'm going to be in Japan for a few days next month and thinking of a day-trip to Nagoya. This would necessarily involve trying hitsumabushi, and I am looking for suggestions on which spots might be best to try.

I have perused to the top-rated hitsumabushi shops on tabelog, but they all appear to serve a similar course, so it is somewhat difficult for me to distinguish them. From the photos (and given how close the ratings are) it's not clear if there is really one or two top spots where this dish should be enjoyed.

Right now, I am considering Atsuta Horaiken (debating whether a 2-3 hour wait is worth it), Ichibiki, and Ibashou, but would definitely consider others based on recommendations. Any suggestions or comments on differentiation between the top-rated shops would be helpful!
