Nabolom Bakery - In trouble and closing soon?

Chestnut | Sep 26, 200405:46 PM     4

Hey all,

I went by Nabolom to grab a danish yesterday and noticed that it had a big sign that said, "Save Nabolom." Apparently it's been having a lot of financial difficulty lately, has incurred a ton of debt, and needs some drastic changes to turn it around (e.g., large wholesale accounts, increased retain sales).

Anyhoo, the bakery is holding a public "townhall" meeting tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 27) to discuss where to go from here. It'll be at 6 pm, at Nabolom.

Apparently, if they don't turn around by January they'll be making preparations to shut down. And to imagine a future in Berkeley without either their fantastic danishes or Infamous Twists seems difficult, doesn't it? (Never mind that the danish I'm eating right now is a little underbaked...you get my point). ;)
