I made two trips to the new branch of Naan n Curry on Telegraph in Berkeley a couple of blocks from campus. The large, high-ceilinged space looks like it got about $200 in renovations, the guy who takes your orders is kind of odd, and you forage for things like forks and napkins on your own. But the food is pretty good. The main thing is the naan, which is grade-A soft -- none of that slight cardboard quality you get in average naan -- and makes you feel good to eat it. Lamb vindaloo was B+ flavorful, wasn't spicy enough, and had too many useless potatoes. Lamb curry was better, A- in flavor and with a more satisfying portion and a good burn. Not perfect, but one of the better choices for lunch on that edge of campus.
