I developed a craving for the Cambodian beef salad; Tiger Tears..usually Blue LIne to the great Floating Rock in Revere. I had other things to do today and didn't want to go to Revere. I'd had it once at M &C and enjoyed it..better grade of beef..good zippy beef salad.

Today's version just didn't do it for me. Last time the beef was cooked to order and there was a nice heat contrast. Today's the beef was precooked and cold...and even asking for extra hot didn't get the flavor I wanted.

The balance of beef/veggies has been more beef at FR vs MC but today it was more pronounced. I basically felt like I ate a salad..with a few slices of beef. Not a bad deal at $10; but not really the dish I had wanted.

The service was friendly, nice space and a lot of the other dishes looked very good.

I'd probably go back; but next time I want Tiger Tears, it's not a viable substitute for Revere.
