This isn't about restaurants per se, but it does concern provisioning, and I thought it the sort of issue that Chowhounds might know about.
I don't know where to find good mushrooms in Orange County. This coming weekend I'm having some vegetarian friends over, and I'd really like to find some good "wild" mushroom varieties, most particularly:
- hen of the woods
- chantrelle or hedgehog
- cinnamon caps
I've never seen any of these down here. Shouldn't the fall be mushroom season? Can anyone point me in the right direction?
