Multi-purpose pickling brine

I want to pickle some vegetables (okra, green beans, maybe cauliflower, maybe carrots). Looking at recipes in the Ball books they seem very similar (2.5 c. vinegar, 2.5 c water .25 c salt vs 3 c. vinegar, 3 c. water, .333 c. salt). Has anybody ever made a generic brine to use for multiple vegetables? I would follow the directions for specific vegetables beyond the group brine....

Thanks for any help/reassurance!

PS I have canned before, just not small batches of multiple things.
