Muddy Waters in Brooklyn finally closes

Forego | Dec 1, 2004 10:12 AM

Muddy Waters, the coffee shop on Vanderbilt Avenue in Brooklyn that everyone hated because of the nasty owner has finally closed down. (See link below to previous thread). Amazing as she had a total lock on the business in an up and coming neighborhood for years. Yet as soon as some viable options opened nearby (Half, Prospect Perk) her customers fled. I know tons of people who liked the coffee but just stopped going there simply because of the owner. Besides her nastiness one other thing always irked me about her...she always insisted on being paid as soon as you placed your order (I have never seen that anywhere else unless it is a shop where there is one person dedicated solely to taking orders and taking care of the register). Has anyone ever heard of that at a one person shop? Anyway the place is closed and for rent.
