Mozarella Smores

I'm trying to figure out how to execute a recipe I found on Epicurious for my holiday party. I usually offer 8-10 hors d'oeuvres or small plates and I like to include something interactive. Last year I did fondue which went over beautifully.

This year I want to use a recipe for Mozarella Smores that is designed for summer bbq's. Bocacinni (little balls of fresh mozarella) replace the marshmallows and you sandwich them between crostini. The original recipe calls for tomato and fresh basil but I'll use roasted red pepper because the tomatoes are so dismal at this time of year.

So my dilema is how to replace the grill. Originally guests are supposed to stand around the outdoor grill to toast/melt their mozarella. I live in Pennsylvania so this is not feasible. But I think I could maybe use one of those portable burners or something? If so, where do you get them?
