It will take me a while to get my feet planted in the rich culinary grounds of LA. So that I dont bore you with the standard freshman "what is the best Italian Joint" or "who makes the best Prime Rib" I was wondering if you had a post for newcomers to the city the way we did in SF. It is a generic complation of the general consensus of what the best of the city is chowhound style. If not,recomendations in all categories by a few good chowhound semaritans would be greatly appreciated.
Im orignaly from NYC and without help from true chow hounds, Ive found LA food to be dominated by a daunting devide between chic expensive formula restarunts, and cheap chain joints. Where is the good food at?
