I just moved to Brighton, and while I have thoroughly scoped out the lunch places, I am lackin in a few other departments, namely Breakfast and Dinner!
Are there any good breakfast spots, other than Zaftigs? I'm talking something along the lines of Soundbites, though I know nothing quite compares. Something low-key, but better than average breakfast? Where could I go on a beautiful Sunday morning such as this??
Are there any good delivery options? I know that Rice Garden delivers to me, which is great, but what about other foods? Any pizza/sub places better than others? I recently tried Carlo's for takeout, and was very very very pleased. Love that place. Anything else around of similar quality that does delivery or takeout?
Hmm, well I guess that does it for now. Here's a couple eats I've checked out recently:
Alive n Kickin' Lobsters:
While I am very happy this place is sooo close to me, and the lobster is consistently very sweet, I still think for 10 bucks I want the crustacean spilling out the ends. I'm not a huge huge fan of the toasted sesame bread, I think I prefer the roll approach, but it does allow for more lobster, albiet, not as much as I'd like. The problem is, I eat one, and I'm still hungry for more. I think I'm gonna ask for extra lobster from now on. I like the little shack feel to the place, and enjoy the picnic tables. Has anyone tried a steamed lobster there? Will they cook it for you? How was it? Big one? I'm very tempted to get a 2 pounder, but I don't want to make it myself (hate the scream). Wish this place prepared more of their fish on-site, but it's not really setup to be a restaurant, I suppose...
Carlo's Cucina Italiana:
YUM. LOVE this place. Tried the Gnocci Sorrentina, and the sauce was fantastic. Gnocci themselves didn't taste too homemade, kinda had that boxy taste in the middle, but the sauce was soo good I didn't care. Though, I wouldn't order it again. Cannot wait to try everything on the menu!! Any suggestions of where to start?
