Just happened to be right on Poydras St. today walking in the sunshine with a craving for a good fried seafood po-boy. I had not been to Mother's in a long time. Okay, is it just me or are the prices painfully steep? I had a half shrimp/oyster po-boy, fries, a slice of pecan pie, and a coke. Granted, portions were enormous and I could only finish half of everything but the bill came out to just under 25 dollars. Whew! I had to review the bill thinking there was a mistake but lo and behold, a seafood po-boy is in fact $13.50. I wonder what it costs at Cafe Reconcile for example? Guess I need to bring a lunch partner next time and split everything.
