My friend and I had an early supper at Mooncussers. I have not been eating much lately (break up diet works wonders) so knew I'd go with apps.
The setting is quiet and rustic. The bartender and waitress were very kind and helpful. They had nice music playing and soon the Bruins game was aired. The place was filling up as we left around 7:30.
I settled on the Gambas al Ajillo - A traditional Spanish tapas, sautéed marinated tiger shrimp and the Grilled Artichoke - Dressed with extra virgin olive oil and served with your
choice of aioli or hollandaise sauce. The shrimp was delicious, well worth the 8.00 but the artichoke while tasty, was a small meager half and not worth 7.00. Why not make it a whole choke? The sourdough bread mopped up the shrimp marinade. My friend loved her two Seared Scallops $8
Sea scallops, pan seared and served with a paprika- apple butter but would have loved one more. She did not choose the entree because it was a full pound of scallops. She had a small salad as well. The wine list is quite nice. It's a cute spot. We looked at her wedding photos (from her FB account) as there was free wifi.
I'd go back. They had house made shrimp and goat cheese raviolis I'd love to try but my stomach has shrunk.
