Montreal Restaurant Recommendations for NY-ers

Rich | Sep 30, 2001 02:28 PM

My wife and I will be visiting Montral next Friday and Saturday night, and would welcome any recommendations for Montral restaurants where the emphasis is on fresh ingredients imaginatively prepared, attentive but not hovering service, relaxed atmosphere (not haute cusine stiff, but not t-shirts and jeans, either). In NY, our favorites are Gramercy Tavern, Danielle, Nobu, Iso, and Roy's (which I am afraid perished in the World Trade Center attack). Price up to US$200 per couple, everything included, is OK. Toque seems to be the sort of place we would like, but it need not be that cutting edge-- we love bistro food, too.

Thanks for any suggestions, and we are looking forward to visitng your fair city.
