Monkfish Liver at Il Pesce in Eataly

There is a monkfish liver dish currently on the menu that is fantastic. A perfectly seared piece of the liver with a lemon vinaigrette and a grilled green fig on the side. The combination of the slightly fishy, organy liver was perfect with the acidity of the lemon and the sweetness of the fig. The fig also provided a nice textural contrast to the creamy liver as the seeds added a nice crunch. Simple preparation with perfect technique and an amazing result.

This was the first time I have had this outside a Japanese restaurant and I loved it. This is going right up there as one of the next things I cook.

If you are a fan of monkfish liver, you owe it to yourself to try it here (at an off hour preferably)
