The one Indian place in our town recently closed. Based on recommendations from this board, we decided to try Moghul on Oak Tree Road in Edison. What a great restaurant!
My husband and I each had a vegetable samosa and we shared a plate of fried vegetables (can't recall the name of the dish, though). The samosas were huge, and the variety of fried vegetables was much better than I would have expected...cauliflower, spinach, sweet potato, okra (I think) and some others. Our two-year-old, who never eats vegetables, loved the sweet potato and the spinach.
For the entree, I had chicken tikka masala. I ordered it mild, even though I like a little bit of spice. At some restaurants, mild = no spice, but this dish had the perfect amount of heat. My husband had chicken biryani (medium spice) which he also thought was wonderful in terms of taste and heat.
The best part, though, was the service. The waiters were so nice to my son. Several of them came by to talk to him, and the bartender made faces (in a good way) and waved to him as he peered over our booth. Our waiter even noticed how my son was wolfing down the papadom and offered to pack extra with our leftover food. He gave us a huge pack of at least 20 papadom, at no extra charge. Needless to say, we left a big tip.
I highly recommend this place!
