We went to the spring beerfest recently in Breckenridge - quite fun considering how cold it was!
After many, many brews we went down to main street and checked out the outdoor menu for Modis. What caught my eye was an app that had roasted shishito peppers as an ingredient. One of my favorite things and not too common in Colorado, especially this time of year. It was early so we quickly got a table upstairs. I explained to the waitress my love of the shishito and that I didn't want them as part of the listed shrimp app. She went to kitchen and arranged for 3 nice bowls of the roasted peppers for our table. For dinner I had the Guinness Glazed Colorado Lamb T-Bones which were quite tasty - slightly charred on the outside nice and rare inside. And, again the waitress quickly agreed to sub a yummy sounding polenta in place of the standard risotto. The others in our party of 4 all enjoyed there meals as well, although I'll admit I was probably the most picky of the group. We also shared a couple bottles of The Prisoner which seemed quite reasonably priced.
