I haven't reported in a while but I had to post last night's Friday Night Dinner Groups's experience at Modavie Restaurant. Our group of 13 had all arrived by 7:20 and we placed our orders at approx. 7:30. After an interminable wait, the apps./soups started to arrive at intervals. Some of us had already finished our dishes before others had yet to receive theirs. Example, I had ordered the table d'hote which included a soup and app. By the time my soup arrived, some were ready for their main. After 15 minutes, my salad arrived. After another wait of at least 30 minutes, the mains began to be served, and once again, several of us had finished while others were still waiting for their mains. Apparently, this restaurant is part of a group of Old Montreal restaurants owned by supposedly experienced restaurateurs, but this place was beyond amateur hour.

The food was also of wildly varying quality, ranging from quite good to abysmal. At least the live jazz was pretty decent.

All 13 of us were in complete agreement - we'll never frequent this restaurant again.
