I just moved back to the Milwaukee area after four years in DC and three years in San Jose before that. I have been a pho addict for a while and have found myself a little worried after a google search for pho here in Milwaukee. From my online searches I've come across three places that offer pho in the Milwaukee area.
On Yelp they have Noodle House which is a pan-Asian or thai place and frankly I don't trust them to make good pho. If I am wrong, please correct me, but while I love Thai food, I don't expect a Thai/pan-Asian place to make Vietnamese pho.
Next on Yelp is Phan's Garden Restaurant; this place looks quite a bit more promising. I am looking forward to trying it out.
From Google I found Pho Hai Binh Vietnamese Restaurant. They're not on Yelp, but they look like the most authentic place of the three I've found so far, so I think I'll try them first.
Please let me know what you think of these places; and if you know of any others, I would greatly appreciate your advice. I am really hoping to find a place or places that offer all of the traditional meats: from the regular slices of eye round steak, well-done lean brisket, well-done flank, fatty brisket and skirt flank, to the soft tendon and the beef tripe.
p.s. I know that there is a large Hmong population in parts of Wisconsin and if there are any restaurants you know about specializing in Hmong cuisine, I would love to hear about those as well.
