I am currently buried under two feet of snow in the mid-atlantic snowstorm. I was having a craving for miso soup, but I am out of dashi powder and bonito flakes. In my pantry, I found oba iriko (dried anchovies) and kombu. Does anyone have any ideas how to make miso soup broth with these ingredients?
These are also two years old, would they have expired? There is no expiration date on the packaging.
