The Mint Restaurant (Raleigh)

It is all it has been talked about being. For Us It Was A Wonderful Valentines Day Dinner. The place is gorgeous. I haven't made it to the second floor where the bar is, but am told it is something to behold.

We had the Beef Tartare (16), Butter Poached Lobster (15), Ice Berg Wedge (11), Roasted Lamb Rack (29), Grilled Filet Mignon (34). Several wines by the glass the wine steward selected. All excellent, and I can't remember what they were. The last with the Blood Orange Creme Brulee was cold, just a slight sweet taste and perfect. I have never eaten a better tasting Rack of Lamb in my life. It was fantastic as was everything else. It was very expensive (177.00 including the tip), it was a special night and it was excellent.

Valet parking (4 tip, two going, two returning); AS you would expect prompt and courteous. Watch out for a mule drawn carriage. Definitely a Democrat with his own independent sense of direction. But what would you expect two blocks from the Capital.
