Minneapolis: Rustica Bakery

This terrific new bakery shares a space with Jack's Coffee, on 46th and Bryant, 1 1/2 blocks west of Lyndale. Wonderful croissants, and puff pastry based danishes, etc. The baguette we bought was perfect: crusty with a soft flavorful crumb. Business was booming (apparently they got a good write-up in the Strib) and they were running out of many items.

On the debit side, Jack's has expanded from a cozy neighborhhod coffeehouse to a large charmless drafty poorly lit room with mediocre coffee, wobbly chairs and attitudinal baristas. Buy the baked goods and take them home, is my advice.
