So I have been in New Orleans for 2.5 day. I have 11/2 left. First of all, I love this city. It has been a incredible stay.
Just had dinner at Dante's Kitchen and it was delicious. Just exquisitite, it was the meal i was looking to have at Brigsten's (will get to that shortly). The Spoonbread with honey butter was delicious, i had to ask for a second helping. Due to the advice on here, I started with the shrimp and grits....so yummy, just really good. I cant say enough i loved it. Then had the beef medallions for my meal, that was really good also. I tasted the chicken as well (that was amazing). Dessert was the only underwhelming part but my this point I was too full to care. Just a great meal.
For lunch. I went to Felix and had half a dozen raw and half a dozen grilled oysters--uber yummy. But i preferred the raw to the grill. and for breakfast....beignets (you know where)...totally delicious.
I ate at Petunias and Brigstens and dare i say was dissapointed with Brigstens. I got the pork dish, it was salty and not good at all. The butternut squash soup was awesome, I will say. I tasted the seafood plate and that was just alright. Nothing special at all. Gumbo was good. If I was to return i would stick with their appetizers.I was really excited and made reservations 2 weeks ago and was dissapointed. The dessert was just okay also (had banana bread pudding).
