Midway to Bobak's-- easy directions

Steve Drucker | Aug 3, 2002 05:30 PM

I'm a recently converted fan of Bobak's polish buffet when flying into or out of (especially out of) Midway.

From Midway to Bobak's--less than five minutes. Here's how:
--Leaving the rental car garage...
--turn RIGHT (east, in the opposite direction of Cicero Ave) on 55th st.
--Go a few blocks, turn LEFT on Kostner.
--Follow Kostner north to Archer
--Turn LEFT on Archer
--Head west on Archer, across the RR tracks.
--Turn LEFT immediately into Bobak's

When returning to Midway:
--Coming in from the Tollway/I-294, exit I-55 at Pulaski Road South
--go about a mile and turn RIGHT on Archer
--Head west on Archer, across the RR tracks.
--Turn LEFT immediately into Bobak's

Leaving Bobak's back to Midway:
--turn RIGHT on Archer
--Head east on Archer across RR tracks and several more blocks
--turn RIGHT on Kostner
--continue south on Kostner to 55th st
--turn RIGHT on 55th st
--Rental Car garage is on the left, a block or two down.

These directions avoid all the Cicero Ave traffic and holdups.

I imagine a taxi from Midway to Bobak's would be easy, but I suspect that a taxi from Bobak's back to Midway could be a challenge, as you would have to dial one up. That said, it can't be but a 15 minute walk at most.

Now a question for Chicago hounds:
This route takes me by an intriguing looking place on Archer called Vida Del Mar, a mariscos type seafood place. Anyone been?
