mid-week lunch, central park east, Cooper-Hewitt

I'm in town for a couple of days and have been meaning to get to the Cooper-Hewitt. I've finally found the time and would like lunch suggestions. It doesn't have to be super close to the museum. Prefer relatively laid-back atmosphere, quiet, cozy, somewhere I can dawdle a bit: read the paper, relax. Good wine or beer list always a plus. Prefer hearty foods (especially since the weather has turned). If that's a tough find, I'll be wending my way downtown, so could do anything below 96th, preferably on the east side. Oh what the hell, throw in your favorite lunch places below 14th, as well. Please include addresses with cross streets if you know them. Thanks.
