Michael's Genuine

My two Foodie Friends and I made our way to Michael's Genuine on Friday for lunch....We made reservations on-line and glad we did....the place was packed and we were seated immediately....which was nice....We were seated in a small dining room that was a bit on the hot side and extremely loud side.....

For appetizers we went for the pork belly with kimshi and chicken livers....I didn't try the chicken liver appetizer...but the pork belly with kimshi and peanuts was absolutely delicious if not sinfully so....My pals loved the chicken liver app.....

We were all very hungry so we went for the pan-fried (boneless) chicken with the foofy french name...It could have been seasoned better but this chicken was absolutely delicious and that's because it was perfectly cooked....It was juicy and the chicken was of extremely high quality...It was served with roasted asparagus that was also very good....We opted for a side of roasted brussel sprouts and I'm glad we did as they were very tasty and a nice touch.....

The desserts might have been the hilight of the meal....We ordered the Grannie Smith Apple Panini and the Peanut Butter Split....The Apple Pinini was huge and the heated carmel sauce was an incredible finishing touch....If you like peanut buttery desserts, then the Peanut Butter Split is for you...It features a sumptuous brownie, ice cream, a peanut butter sauce, a half slice of banana with a chunk of peanut brittle.....Incredible!!

The only real down side was the service....Our server was actually quite good but it seemed as if they had her handling too many tables and she disappeared for long stretches and that was bothersome....There was a very alert busboy in the area that was extremely helpful and jumped in.....and I didn't mind leaving him a tip as well!

Make reservations! This place is busy and for good reason as the food is very, very good and I'm looking forward to dinner there....It's pricey but we thought it was a solid value given the level of ingredients amd overall taste....We also saw several dishes go by our table that also looked very appealing and that's always a good sign....The service could have and should have been better....But we'll go back....It's that good!
