Miami mega list: feel free to comment! (wall of text!)

CaptCrunch | Jan 11, 2015 01:35 PM

Hello everybody!

I will arrive in Miami on Jan 14, leaving on monday Jan 19, and I made a pretty large list of potential bars, restaurant and attractions.

Instead of the typical "please tell me what is best" I usually like to post my "short list" and invite comments (and insults? why not!).

I usually prefer local, low brow food and beverages. I live in Montreal and have access to pretty good food but your cuban, south american, caribean, central american, fast food scene is far superior to ours. I'm not looking for "the best chef in the us", I am not price adverse but I usually prefer an authentic/historic/local cheap shack than a 5 star 14 course dinner.

For the bar scene, I make cocktails myself so I am not usually impressed by cocktail bars but anything "authentic", unusual: ie craft beer, a specific cocktail history/bar, even trashy alcoholic slushy by the beach will get my interest.

As far as attractions go, I like architecture, art deco, art nouveau, vintage sites and attractions, tiki, kitch, historical places.

I am residing in south beach so I have divided miami beach and other locations.

The goal is not to do everything but to have a good list to improvise. I put asterix on the side of things that looks particularly interesting.

Sorry again for the wall of text... (!)
