We're going to be in Mexico City from Friday through Sunday evening (I think) in a month. We're very conversant in good food from all walks of life, and love good tequila. For the benefit of those familiar with the Bay Area, we frequent Fruitvale taco trucks as often as we do Dona Tomas.
We're staying at the Four Seasons downtown and will be arriving at about 3 PM. Our plans for the weekend are general: markets, museums, Coayacan. We'll follow chow.
Please give us your best for the weekend. What should we go after, and when. We'd love a mix of street food, simple local haunts, cool bars (but quality, not just hipster), and fine dining. Since we've never been to Mexico City before, I imagine we'd want to stay fairly close to home at night.
So far, I'm thinking Ixote the night we get in, and that's all I've got.
Thank you in advance!
