Took Mme Zoe for a pre birthday lunch to this outpost of Serbian cuisine to bring back memories of Belgrade.
The mood is sooooooo upbeat and the host is very welcoming (he of the flowing hair and Balkan charm - he was truly charming). However the food was less than stellar; bean soup (with pork ribs) needed salt and something of the rib besides bones; wiener schnitzel was pounded beef served with fries (we asked for vegetables and got a huge plate of those) - beef was tasteless and showed no signs of being either wiener or schnitzel. Serbian salad was just marvellous - a huge plate of small quartered tomatoes, feta, red onion and cucumber in a peppery dressing, really good. Cappacino and a double espresso for me rounded off the meal. They did not have the octapus crostini which was on the menu but not carried any more. Will return to try some of the other items - what was the most fun was the buzz and general energy in the place.
