Metallic tasting steak

Made a really nice rocket and pancetta daupinoise, but the steak I cooked with it was really metallic. Even when cutting through it, the inside smelled of metal. What the hell was that about?

I'm going to complain if I remember. Wonder if it was bad for me? Anyone else had this?
