Went to Memphis last night, and while it had a great looking crowd and the place was packed, the service and food were really sub-par. The house in which it's located is great, really odd much like the magic castle, so i was expecting the food to be equally inspired. We ordered fried chicked (dry), ribs (not bad -nice sauce but came out cold), mac n cheese (which honestly tasted like they used a disgusting generic brand of velveeta), a grilled veggie salad with shrimp (the shrimp never arrived), and 'crazy' fries (mealy fries with garlic & parm for 8 bucks!!) I had eaten earlier that day at Swingers and enjoyed my food more. In addition to the bad food, Memphis, being new, hadn't really found it's groove in terms of operating. We had so many people coming by, but almost no one followed through when there we needed something. One sweet hardworking guy, a foodrunner, was basically our server. We only saw our actual server when it was time to pay the bill. The good news...we did speak to the manager, and he did the right thing and took much of the bill off. I would defintely come for just drinks (they have a great lounge, and good crowd), but please do yourself a favor and eat before!
