Memphis - Cafe 1912

Susan | Aug 11, 2003 03:52 PM

I wanted to plug Cafe 1912 which opened a few months ago in my neighborhood. It's casual bistro French - roast chicken, steaks, mussels, goat cheese tart, etc at very affordable prices. The cafe is the sister restaurant of La Tourelle. The most expensive item on the menu is about $18.00 and they have a nice little wine list for $5.00 a glass or $20 per bottle.

Cafe 1912 is in an old storefront simply decorated with an open kitchen. Reservations on the weekend are essential. It's great place for a really good meal when you don't want to break the bank. Dress varies from dressy to extremely casual.
