has anyone visited the lovely little yogurt shop on the border of astoria and jackson heights? i think this shop is so cute and all products are made with loving care. the owner is a very pretty greek woman, who makes all the yogurts and pastry dough daily. the yogurt is so smooth and creamy. she prepares fruit compotes for a topping, along with sprinkled cinnamon and ground almonds or big pieces of fresh walnuts. the compote toppings consist of either sour cheries and brandy or a mixture of apricots, prunes and a touch of cognac. she also makes low-fat if you wish. the baklava and apple pies are a treat.there is also tzatsiki sauce packaged to take home-the real thing. if you call a day in advance she will prepare special desserts for a dinner party for you to pick up. such as parisian crepes/with a filling of apricot jam, brandy, fresh lemon juice, toasted almonds ,vanilla and honeyed yogurt.try the little finger sized purses with chicken and mushrooms are very good. big jars of honey and fresh shelled walnuts available too. is my posting too long? i am sorry but i love this little place, it is so clean and it cheers me up. closed sundays and on saturday only open from 12 noon to 4 pm. i would love to work there but i am a visiting nurse and thats why i get a chance to see all theses wonderful places around queens. bye for now. it is located at 77th street on 21st avenue.
