meal report Zeke's Pascal's and Delmonico's, Nor-Joe's

Zeke's charbroiled oysters were a poor second to Drago's; not worth the calories was a comment. The RB poor-boy was good but not as good as Parasol's. Generally, a forgetable experience other than the Bloody Mary.

Pascal's was horrid. The shrimp were pasty, evidently long in the tooth. The oysters bienville and Rockafeller were not worth it.

Delmonico's was its usual first class self. The duck was superb, and the service without fault.

Nor-Joe's was great. The Muffaletta had wonderful meats and cheeses, but too much bread. The ratio was fine, so I guess there was too much everything. Better flavor and less salty than Central Grocery's version, but I think Central has better bread, at least for this concoction. It also seemed like Nor-Joe's had a better selection of real foodstuffs, as opposed to tourist eyecatchers, but that may be because they had whole cumin seed for me.
