Out here in Los Angeles, there are a number of shops that provide customers with the all the necessary foods and materials to assemble full entrees (uncooked), ready to pop into the freezer for later use. Casseroles, meat, chicken, and vegetable dishes -- assembled from prepared (sliced, diced, sometimes pre-measured) ingredients that you assemble in proper cooking or baking pans, seal in plastic, slap on the label with baking instructions, and take home to your freezer. Their “menus” usually change monthly.

While not gourmet in calibre, it’s all quite good, and a miracle of time for people who get into preparing their food, but just don’t have the time to prepare meals when they get home from wherever they get home.

I’m looking for such a place in the Albany, NY area. It would be a perfect place for my elder in-laws to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday, and leave with a dozen meals ready to freeze.

If anyone has information about this kind of place in Albany, I’d be grateful if you’d let me know.
