Had dinner at Mazzi in Leola (near
Lancaster) this weekend. This was
my first time there, and all in all
the experience was excellent.
Started out with Calamari Appetizer.
The Calamari was cooked perfectly, and
the portion was more than enough to split
between my wife and I. It was served with
a Cajun Aoli which was very good. However,
I think I would have preferred a marina sauce
Our entrees came with nice salads, and we both
got the Honey Jalepeno Vinaigrette dressing.
The dressing was excellent. Just the right
combination of sweet and heat.
We both ordered the half portion of baked Penne
with proscuitto, mushrooms, and goat cheese. We
both enjoyed this very much. The cheese was creamy,
and the sauce was a thick tomato base. It all
went together very well.
For desert, we split a piece of tiramisu and
each had a coffee. The piece of tiramisu was
quite large, and more than enough for the two
of us to split.
I saw some dishes at other tables, and everything looked excellent.
Especially the Paella. I think I'll try that next time.
The only potential negative I could find about the
place is that it is that it is very open, so it tended
to be rather noisy. Neither my wife or I minded, but
