Wife and I stopped in to this place on 83rd and Northern... a very bright bar/restaurant in a Colombian section of Jackson Heights. I noted a couple cookbooks on the counter, and that to me, is usualy a good sign. It means they're interested, still. We had only appetizers, but what we had was just outstanding:
Arepas Relleno - Arepas stuffed with Roast Pork, pimento, cheese and a sauce that make me squirm with ecstasy. The other two arepas were stuffed with roast/stewed chicken (also terrific) and a very fresh, garlicky guacamole. Really a spectacular dish and would make a great meal
We also had their mazorca, which is grilled, buttered corn with cheese. Very juicy and tasty ear, this.
We had some fresh juices, passion fruit and pineapple, and both were fresh squeezed, blended.
A very happy experience
