Went to Mas on Saturday night. Ordered the squab cooked in a clay pot for an entree. At $34, it consisted of the following:
- 4 small pieces of breast meat (largest being maybe 1" by 3") fanned out on the side of the plate
- 2 legs (about 2 1/2" long) with VERY little meat
- a duck tartlette (which was actually about 1/8th" of a tartlette that started out being maybe 2" in diameter)
-frisee (whoo hoo)
Yes, if I was unhappy I should have sent it back. But I didn't. And yes, cooking it in a clay pot seemed to have cut back on some of the gaminess. Anyhow. If you're going to Mas and the squab is on the menu, and you want it, I would suggest ordering two.
Overall, it's a nice date place on Downing St. and the service is very friendly. 12 tables total, I think.
